Permanent identification for UK manufacturing
Dark component held in a fixture, with square code patterns, alphanumeric text and a geometric mark.

Variable and fixed content

Serial number and logo laser marking machines

Apply permanent serial numbers, part references, logos, dates, ratings and variable production information directly onto components.

Flexible marking content

One system can combine human-readable and machine-readable identity.

A marking layout may include fixed artwork, product data and a unique serial or code generated at the point of production. The system can select the correct template, populate variable fields and prevent duplicate or mismatched marks.

01

Unique serial numbers

Create sequential, imported or database-issued identifiers.

02

Crisp logos

Convert suitable artwork into repeatable permanent product branding.

03

Multiple data fields

Combine text, dates, batch details, graphics and 2D codes.

04

Program control

Select and lock the correct marking recipe for each product variant.

Artwork & templates

Turn approved artwork into a controlled marking recipe.

We prepare marking layouts around the available field, surface shape and required character size. Fixed content and editable fields are separated so operators can change only the information needed for production.

  • Vector logos and line graphics
  • Part numbers and ratings
  • Dates, shifts and batch fields
  • Sequential or imported serial numbers
  • Password and recipe controls
ARTWORK INPUTSupply original vector files where possible.

Good source artwork creates cleaner paths and more predictable marking than a low-resolution screenshot or compressed image.

Data integrity

Reduce manual entry and prevent duplicate identity.

Variable information can be transferred from production files, barcode scans, PLC registers or databases. Validation rules and system handshakes can ensure marking begins only when the correct part and data are present.

  • Barcode-led job selection
  • PLC and database data exchange
  • Duplicate serial prevention
  • Operator access levels
  • Mark result and audit records
PROCESS DESIGNRemove unnecessary typing.

Automated data transfer reduces transcription risk and shortens product changeovers.

Application questions

Questions about serialisation and artwork?

Every material and production process is different. We will help you turn the marking requirement into a practical specification.

Call 01865 362785
01Can the laser generate a new serial number automatically?+

Yes. Serial numbers can be sequential, rule-based, imported or supplied by a connected production system. The preferred method depends on how uniqueness is controlled across your site.

02What file format is needed for a logo?+

Vector artwork is preferred because it provides clean geometry. Other formats may be usable after preparation, but the final artwork should always be trialled on the real component.

03Can operators change the marking program?+

Access can be managed so operators select approved recipes while higher-level users control artwork, field rules and system settings.
